Zayo launches new dark fiber route

Zayo Group Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: ZAYO) is planning a new, success-based long haul dark fiber network between Portland and Umatilla, Oregon, the company said.

The anchor tenant will partially fund the construction of the route, which has already seen strong demand from additional customers. Construction began in January 2017.

The network expansion will add more than 250 route miles along the Hood River corridor in Oregon, which has become a data center hub for major content companies and carriers. The route will be fully underground, supported by five ILA sites, providing secure, low-latency connectivity.

Cost-effective industrial power and enterprise zone and other tax incentives have attracted large enterprises to the communities along the corridor.

Zayo Group Holdings provides communications infrastructure services, including fiber and bandwidth connectivity, colocation and cloud infrastructure to the world´s leading businesses.
