xG Technology acquires Vislink

Wireless communications provider xG Technology, Inc. (Nasdaq: XGTI, XGTIW) and software and technology company Vislink, plc (London: VLK) have closed on the acquisition of Vislink Communication Systems and established 2 February 2017 as a formal transition date of the business, xG Technology said.

Vislink shareholders approved the transaction nearly unanimously on 9 January 2017.

Founded in 2002, xG Technology has developed technologies that enable always-available, always-connected and always-secure voice, broadband data and video communications. Based in Sarasota, Florida, xG has over 100 patents and pending patent applications.

Vislink plc provides solutions for the live collection, delivery, and playout automation of high quality video from scene to screen for the broadcast and surveillance and public safety markets worldwide. The company operates through two divisions, Vislink Communication Systems and Pebble Beach Systems. Its products include airborne, amplifiers, antennas, cellular and IPs, encoders/decoders, microwave point to point, on-boards, receivers, sitcom, transmitters, and wireless camera systems. Vislink plc was founded in 1999 and is headquartered in Hungerford, the United Kingdom.
