A major wireless carrier has selected Zayo for a dark fiber solution to densify its network in Colorado Springs and expand capacity along the Front Range, the company said.
The solution will leverage Zayo´s existing network between the Denver Metro area and Colorado Springs and will add 124 new route miles in Colorado Springs for the dark fiber-to-the-tower (FTT) solution. The total value of the 20-year contract exceeds USD 16m.
Zayo´s solution will enable the carrier to implement a centralized radio access network (C-RAN) architecture for efficient network densification. Long haul dark fiber will provide diverse connectivity between Colorado Springs and the Denver metro area.
