Winglet technology contributes to savings of 9bn gallons of jet fuel

Aviation Partners, Inc. (API) and Aviation Partners Boeing (APB) have announced the blended winglet and split scimitar winglet technologies have saved an estimated 9 billion gallons of jet fuel for the world´s commercial and business jet operators, the company said.

The fuel savings has resulted in a corresponding global reduction of over 95 million tons of CO2 emissions.

Blended Winglets have now been installed on over 8,500 aircraft.

APB and API expect the cumulative fuel savings from their technology to exceed 10 billion gallons in September of 2019.
