Wheels Up, a private aviation company, has announced retired US Air Force Lieutenant General Thomas W. Bergeson has been named chief operating officer as Jason Horowitz, who has served as COO since 2017, takes on the new role of Chief Business Officer (CBO), the company said.
Lt. Gen. Bergeson will be responsible for the operations of the company, while Horowitz will focus on corporate development, M&A, and business strategy.
As COO, Bergeson will provide leadership across the operations as Wheels Up continues to integrate its recent acquisitions Avianis, TMC, Gama Aviation, and Delta Private Jets. Lt.
Most recently, Bergeson served as Deputy Commander, US Central Command where he oversaw military security cooperation and combat operations within the Arabian Peninsula, Northern Red Sea, Arabian Gulf, and Central and Southern Asian States.
