Wheels Up, AirMed International plan travelers exclusive medical transport flights

Wheels Up and AirMed International said they have announced a new exclusive partnership to begin December 1, 2015 that will provide complimentary access to private transport on AirMed International´s fleet of state-of-the-art medical jets to Wheels Up members and their guests.

Wheels Up Founder and CEO Kenny Dichter said, “Partnering with AirMed International, a leading air medical service, ensures Wheels Up members have access to immediate medical transport with the highest level of patient care when they need to get home to their trusted physicians.”

According to Dichter, the AirMed International program is available to Wheels Up members and/or listed passengers on any given trip itinerary, who require medical transport within 10 days of his or her scheduled Wheels Up flight. The service will provide relocation to the hospital of choice for patients in stable condition who become hospitalized more than 150 miles from their home, within the Wheels Up footprint that covers the US, parts of the Caribbean, northern Mexico, and southeastern Canada.

AirMed transport specialists will seamlessly execute medical evacuations for Wheels Up members and/or their guests, serving as the liaison between the attending and receiving physicians while collecting all vital medical data and managing the patient itinerary and dispatch.

Wheels Up is a membership-based private aviation company that reduces the upfront cost to fly privately, while providing flexibility, service and safety.
