WestJet reports May 2016 load factor of 81%

WestJet has reported a May 2016 load factor of 81.4 per cent, with a 14.4 percent year-over-year increase in revenue passenger miles (RPMs), the company said.

The airline reported available seat miles (ASMs) grew 8.4 per cent over the same period. The airline flew a record 1.8 million guests in May, a year-over-year increase of 9.6 per cent or approximately 157,000 additional guests.

In May 2016, WestJet launched new non-stop service between London (Gatwick) and six Canadian cities (Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Toronto, and St John´s). WestJet flies a total of 56 weekly flights in both directions between Canada and London, including non-stop transatlantic service available from Winnipeg.

WestJet offers scheduled service to 100 destinations in North America, Central America, the Caribbean and Europe. Through its regional airline, WestJet Encore, and with partnerships with other airlines the company offers more than 150 destinations in more than 20 countries.
