Vonage granted 7 new patents in 2016

Vonage (NYSE: VG) has been granted seven new patents by the United States Patent and Trademark Office, bringing to 113 US patents now owned by Vonage, the company said.

The has more than 200 US patent applications pending, along with many foreign patents and pending applications in jurisdictions worldwide.

Vonage chief legal officer Kurt Rogers said, “Our most recent patents broadly cover unique features applicable to communications platform as a service, enabling developers and enterprises to embed contextual communications into websites, apps and business workflows. Using CPaaS solutions, businesses are able to increase customer engagement by providing direct, relevant and actionable communications to their customers across any mode of communication, on any platform, from text, to chat app, to social media, to voice.”

The company has also received several new patents covering technology related to Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS) features and enhanced quality of service.
