Volaris reports 15% increase in August 2019 capacity

Mexico-based ultra-low-cost airline Volaris (NYSE: VLRS) (BMV: VOLAR) has reported 2,150m in August 2019 capacity, measured in ASMs (available seat miles), compared to 1,867m in August 2018, an increase of 15.2%, the company said.

Volaris reported a load factor of 83.4% in August 2019, compared to 80.3% in August 2018, an increase of 3.1 pp.

During the month, Volaris started operations on two international routes from El Salvador, San Salvador to Mexico City and Guadalajara, Jalisco, respectively; and launched for sale one international route from Leon, Guanajuato to Fresno, California.

Volaris serves Mexico, the United States and Central America. Volaris offers low base fares to build its market, providing quality service and extensive customer choice. Since beginning operations in March 2006, Volaris has increased its routes from five to more than 194 and its fleet from four to 80 aircraft. Volaris offers more than 384 daily flight segments on routes that connect 40 cities in Mexico and 25 cities in the United States and Central America.
