Virgin America launches Operation Chihuahua to fly tiny dogs to adoptive homes in NY

Virgin America has launched its seventh annual cross-country Operation Chihuahua airlift to fly dozens of tiny dogs to New York where they will be placed in adoptive homes, the company said.

To support the its animal shelter partners, Virgin America has donated USD10 from every booking made up until 6 a.m. PT on November 29 to The San Francisco Animal Care and Control (SF ACC), The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) and Animal Haven. Some restrictions to the bookings apply.

To date, the airline has flown more than 100 Chihuahuas to their new homes in New York.

Virgin America flies to Austin, Boston, Cancun, Chicago, Dallas Love Field, Denver, Fort Lauderdale, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Los Cabos, Newark, New York (JFK and LGA), Orlando, Palm Springs, Portland, Puerto Vallarta, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, Washington D.C. (IAD and DCA), Honolulu and Kahului, Maui.
