VimpelCom names global media planning, buying managers

Netherlands-based telecom services provider VimpelCom Ltd. (NASDAQ: VIP) has appointed two global media agencies to manage its global media planning and buying.

The move forms part of the company´s transformation to globalize its operations and processes across the Group.

From January 1, 2016, Dentsu Aegis Network and Starcom Mediavest Group will take over media planning, management and buying for VimpelCom in Russia, Italy, Ukraine, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Bangladesh, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Armenia, and Georgia, covering its consumer brands Beeline, Wind, Kyivstar, Banglalink and Mobilink.

VimpelCom, an international telecoms company operating in 14 countries and headquartered in Amsterdam, provides voice and data services through a range of traditional and broadband mobile and fixed technologies. As of September 30, 2015 VimpelCom had 217 million mobile customers and 5.8 million fixed-line broadband customers on a combined basis.
