United Airlines (UAL) has reported June 2017 consolidated traffic (revenue passenger miles) increased 3.4 percent and consolidated capacity (available seat miles) increased 5.0 percent versus June 2016, the company said.
UAL´s June 2017 consolidated load factor decreased 1.4 points compared to June 2016.
The company now expects second-quarter 2017 consolidated passenger unit revenue to be up approximately 2.0 percent compared to the second quarter of 2016, the mid-point of the company´s original guidance range of 1.0 to 3.0 percent.
With the exception of the Pacific, all regions performed in-line with to slightly better than initial expectations. As noted in the May traffic release, the Pacific region experienced incremental weakness in the quarter due to unfavorable supply and demand dynamics in China and Hong Kong.
United Airlines and United Express operate approximately 4,500 flights a day to 338 airports across five continents. In 2016, United and United Express operated more than 1.6 million flights carrying more than 143 million customers. The airline is a founding member of Star Alliance, which provides service to more than 190 countries via 28 member airlines.
