United Airlines has announced it has formed a partnership with New York-based secure identity company CLEAR, which uses biometrics to deliver curb-to-gate experiences for customers, the company said.
The partnership includes free or discounted CLEAR membership pricing for US-based MileagePlus members. United is also making a strategic equity investment in CLEAR that will support the company´s growth, including bringing CLEAR to the airline´s hubs at Newark Liberty International Airport and Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport starting later this summer. United is also supporting CLEAR´s efforts with the City of Chicago to open CLEAR lanes at Chicago O´Hare in the coming months. CLEAR already operates at United´s hubs in Denver, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Washington Dulles.
United Airlines and United Express operate approximately 4,900 flights a day to 356 airports across five continents. In 2018, United and United Express operated more than 1.7 million flights carrying more than 158 million customers.

CLEAR´s secure identity platform complies with The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) rigorous guidelines for protecting sensitive data and is certified as a Qualified Anti-Terrorism Technology by the US Department of Homeland Security.
