United Airlines, GSW Arena LLC, and the Golden State Warriors have formed a new multi-year relationship, naming the carrier the official airline for the Warriors and a founding partner for Chase Center, the company said.
The Chase Center is the sports and entertainment complex scheduled to be built in San Francisco´s Mission Bay neighborhood. United will begin its partnership with the Warriors for the 2016-17 season at Oracle Arena and continue the relationship when the team relocates to Chase Center.
Executives from Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco — an organization that aims to inspire young people, especially those from disadvantaged circumstances, to realize their full potential — were also present for the news conference, which reported the relationship. United announced plans to expand its relationship with the organization to USD60,000 in travel funds. The Boys & Girls Clubs will use this support to fly its Rebels basketball team to amateur athletic union basketball tournaments around the country.
The Golden State Warriors organization, currently in its 71st season, is a charter member of the National Basketball Association.
GSW Arena LLC, founded in 2010, is privately funding the construction of a new sports and entertainment center to be named Chase Center, which will be the anchor of an 11-acre mixed use complex on private property in San Francisco´s Mission Bay neighborhood.
United Airlines and United Express operate more than 4,500 flights a day to 339 airports across five continents. In 2015, United and United Express operated more than 1.5 million flights carrying more than 140 million customers.
