United Airlines flight attendants ratify joint contract

Association of Flight Attendants-CWA has reported flight attendants at United Airlines have ratified a contract covering 25,000 flight attendants, with over 90 percent participating in the vote and 53 percent voting to ratify the agreement, the company said.

This agreement was made with assistance from the National Mediation Board.

Under the new agreement, all United flight attendants will be joined by a single contract.

The five-year agreement includes double-digit pay increases, enhanced job security provisions, maintains and improves healthcare, protects retirement and increases flexibility.

The Association of Flight Attendants is a large flight attendant union, serving as a voice for flight attendants in the workplace, in the aviation industry, in the media and on Capitol Hill.

United Airlines and United Express operate more than 4,500 flights a day to 339 airports across five continents. In 2015, United and United Express operated more than 1.5 million flights carrying more than 140 million customers.
