UniPixel ships 500K XTouch sensors for US wireless carrier consumer tablet

High performance metal mesh capacitive touch sensor provider UniPixel, Inc. (NASDAQ: UNXL) has shipped a total of approximately 524,000 XTouch sensors for an 8-inch consumer tablet being offered by a leading national wireless carrier, the company said.

Shipments commenced in the third quarter of calendar 2016 and are ongoing.

UniPixel´s product was chosen by a leading original design manufacturer for inclusion in the new consumer Android tablet for the major US wireless carrier. The product features an 8-inch high definition screen with a 1920 x 1200 LCD (“liquid crystal display”). The tablet went into production in late 2016 and is currently being offered to the carrier´s customers nationwide.

UniPixel develops and markets high performance metal mesh capacitive touch sensors to the touchscreen and flexible display markets. The company´s roll-to-roll electronics manufacturing process patterns fine line conductive elements on thin films. The company markets its technologies for touch panel sensor, cover glass replacement, and protective cover film applications under the XTouch and Diamond Guard brands.
