Twilio announces Q2 2018 results

Twilio (NYSE: TWLO), the cloud communications platform, has reported financial results for its second quarter ended June 30, 2018, the company said.

Total revenue of USD 147.8 million for the second quarter of 2018, up 54% from the second quarter of 2017 and 14% sequentially from the first quarter of 2018.

Base revenue of USD 135.0 million for the second quarter of 2018, up 54% from the second quarter of 2017 and 15% sequentially from the first quarter of 2018.

GAAP loss from operations of USD 22.0 million for the second quarter of 2018, compared with GAAP loss from operations of USD 7.1 million for the second quarter of 2017. Non-GAAP income from operations of USD 2.2 million for the second quarter of 2018, compared with non-GAAP loss from operations of USD 4.7 million for the second quarter of 2017.

GAAP net loss per share attributable to common stockholders of USD 0.25 based on 96.3 million weighted average shares outstanding in the second quarter of 2018, compared with GAAP net loss per share attributable to common stockholders of USD 0.08 based on 90.9 million weighted average shares outstanding in the second quarter of 2017.

Non-GAAP net income per share attributable to common stockholders of USD 0.03 based on 106.6 million non-GAAP weighted average shares outstanding in the second quarter of 2018, compared with non-GAAP net loss per share attributable to common stockholders of USD 0.05 based on 90.9 million weighted average shares outstanding in the second quarter of 2017.
