Turkcell Iletisim Hizmetleri: First Quarter 2017 Results

Turkcell Iletisim Hizmetleri A.S. (NYSE: TKC) (BIST: TCELL) is consolidating all financial data to include Turkcell Iletisim Hizmetleri A.S. and its subsidiaries and associates (together referred to as the “Group”), unless otherwise stated, the company said.

The company recorded the highest revenue and EBITDA growth of the past 10 years both at the Group and Turkcell Turkey level.

Group revenues and EBITDA were up 25.6% and 39.8%, respectively with EBITDA margin of 34.5% which improved by 3.4pp year-on-year and which is the highest first quarter EBITDA margin since 2009.

Turkcell Turkey´s revenues and EBITDA up 21.7% and 38.5%, respectively with an EBITDA margin expansion of 4.3pp to 35.6%; data and digital services revenues, comprising 67% of Turkcell Turkey revenues, up 94.2%.

Turkcell is a converged telecommunication and technology services provider, founded and headquartered in Turkey. It serves its customers with voice, data, TV and value-added consumer and enterprise services on mobile and fixed networks.

Turkcell launched LTE services in its home country on April 1st, 2016, employing LTE-Advanced and 3 carrier aggregation technologies in 81 cities. In 2G and 3G, Turkcell´s population coverage is at 99.63% and 96.21%, respectively, as of March 2017. It offers up to 1 Gbps fiber internet speed with its FTTH services. Turkcell Group companies operate in 9 countries — Turkey, Ukraine, Belarus, Northern Cyprus, Germany, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Moldova — as of March 31, 2017.

Turkcell Group reported a TRY4.1 billion revenue in Q117 with total assets of TRY33.0 billion as of March 31, 2017.
