Travelers are going out of their way to travel green according to a recent survey conducted by The GO Group LLC´s Chicago-based ground transportation service provider GO Airport Express serving O´Hare International and Midway airports.
More than 300 travelers were asked to indicate how they traveled “green.” Topping the list at 45% was packing lighter. Forty-two percent say they walk, bike or use public transportation at their destinations; 40% buy and shop local and 39% eat locally sourced food.
Thirty three percent of respondents save on water and energy by reusing their linens at their hotels and 27% participate in the properties´ recycling programs. Just over 20% bring their own water bottles to the airport to fill up after they pass security. Just 14% noted they prefer to stay at “green” hotels.

The GO Group, LLC is a one-stop source for door-to-door airport shuttle services. Its members transport some 13m passengers to and from airports in the United States, Mexico, Canada and Europe annually.
