Transport Canada approves increase in cycle limits on Pratt & Whitney Canada engines

United Technologies Corp. subsidiary, Pratt & Whitney Canada, has announced it has received approval from Transport Canada to increase cycle limits on its PT6A-140, -140A and -140AG engines, the company said.

These increases — made possible through comprehensive parts testing and model analyses — will extend the life of Low Cycle Fatigue (LCF) parts such as the power and compressor turbine disks and the impeller.

Pratt & Whitney is a world leader in the design, manufacture and service of aircraft and helicopter engines, and auxiliary power units. United Technologies Corp., based in Farmington, Connecticut, provides high-technology systems and services to the building and aerospace industries.
