The Wings Club Foundation names 2016 Distinguished Achievement Award Recipient

This year, The Wings Club Foundation, Inc., will honor Boeing´s immediate past Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, W. James “Jim” McNerney, Jr., with the 2016 Distinguished Achievement Award, the company said.

Acknowledging outstanding accomplishments in the field of aviation, The Wings Club Foundation will present this award on October 21, 2016, at the 74th Annual Awards Gala to be held at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City.

McNerney joined Boeing as Chairman, President and CEO in July 2005, where he served as President until December 2013 and CEO until July 2015, having served as a member of the Boeing board since 2001.

Appointed by US President Barack Obama, McNerney currently serves on the Kennedy Center board of Trustees, having previously chaired the President´s Export Council.

Recognizing significant achievements that contribute to the advancement of aviation and aeronautics, The Wings Club Foundation presents not only the Distinguished Achievement Award, but also the Outstanding Aviator Award and the Distinguished Scholar Awards.
