Telefonica has announced it has been awarded a contract with Avianca, a Colombian Airline, to provide a range of digital services across the 27 countries in which the Colombian flag carrier currently operates, the company said.
Avianca said the agreement makes it possible to move forward with the airlines´ digital transformation goal. Telefónica has been an ally in processes such as the certification of our infrastructure, as well as the unification of communications, by integrating tools such as voice, video conferencing, and Skype for Business.
Avianca said it has ambitions to be South America´s biggest airline by 2020. Part of that strategy is a complete overhaul of its digital servicers. The two companies have signed a five-year agreement which will see Telefonica provide voice and data services, infrastructure support, digital security and SDN solutions to Avianca.
Telefónica, S.A. is a Spanish multinational broadband and telecommunications provider with operations in Europe, Asia, and North, Central and South America.
Avianca S.A. has been the national airline and flag carrier of Colombia since 5 December 1919, when it was initially registered under the name SCADTA.
