Telephone and Data Systems, Inc. (NYSE: TDS) has appointed Thomas S. Weber vice president of internal audit, the company said.
Weber succeeds Frieda E. Ireland, who is retiring after 13 years, effective May 1, 2016.
Weber joined TDS´ subsidiary, US Cellular in 1992 and has held a number of US Cellular roles including vice president and controller and principal accounting officer in 2002; vice president of financial strategy in 2005; and most recently vice president of financial and real estate services in 2010.
Telephone and Data Systems, Inc. provides wireless; broadband, video and voice; and hosted and managed services to approximately 6.1 million customers nationwide through its businesses, US Cellular, TDS Telecom, OneNeck IT Solutions, and BendBroadband. Founded in 1969 and headquartered in Chicago, TDS employed 10,400 people as of December 31, 2015.
