SVP of labor relations to retire from Southwest Airlines

Southwest Airlines Co. (NYSE: LUV) has reported Randy Babbitt, senior vice president of labor relations, is retiring after 50 years in the commercial aviation industry, the company said.

Babbitt joined Southwest in 2012 and has spent the last four years leading the carrier´s labor relations team.

He began his aviation career with Eastern Air Lines in 1966, and he later worked with the Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA), spent time industry consulting and with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) before joining Southwest.

In its 46th year of service, Dallas-based Southwest Airlines (NYSE: LUV) serves more than 100 million customers annually, operating more than 3,900 departures a day during peak travel season across a network of 98 destinations in the United States and seven additional countries.
