SuperCom subsidiary Alvarion introduces Wi-Fi 802.11ac-standard access points

SuperCom (NASDAQ: SPCB) subsidiary Alvarion has released Avidity series of indoor and outdoor access points based on the latest 802.11ac standard, the company said.

The Avidity series is both compliant with IEEE 802.11ac and backwards-compatible with 802.11a/b/g/n. This evolution provides sustainable solutions that can handle current capacity and performance needs.

Alvarion´s access points enables the construction of scalable Wi-Fi networks with quality of service (QoS), security and high service reliability. The products support Passpoint with hotspot capability and include networking features for core integration with cellular and fixed-line operators. The access points are controlled and managed by the Alvarion´ Arena cloud based controller. The Avidity series is an evolution of Alvarion´s outdoor access point and it features mature radio algorithms including DIH, WARA and ACS that structure a sustainable network.

Dynamic Interference Handling (DIH) optimizes performance in 2.4GHZ and 5GHz noisy environments. Rate Adaptation (WARA) chooses the best rate and bandwidth depending on changes in channel environment. Automatic Channel Selection (ACS) allows the access point to direct its client to the optimal channel and balance the usage.
