Stockton Metropolitan Airport awarded FAA grant

Stockton Metropolitan Airport (SCK) has received notification from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) that it has been awarded a USD2.6 million grant to rebuild and resurface the airport´s burgeoning general aviation ramp, which accommodates the airport´s largest employers, including Atlantic Aviation, the company said.

In early 2016, airport administration conducted pavement assessments, which prioritized the general aviation ramp area as being in serious need of reconstruction. Atlantic Aviation, Stockton Airport´s sole fixed-based operator, funded the USD300,000 engineering costs which allowed the airport to enter the current year´s federal-funding cycle.

Stockton Metropolitan Airport is three miles southeast of downtown Stockton, a city in San Joaquin County, California, and is owned by the County of San Joaquin.
