Aviat Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: AVNW) has been awarded a USD10 million network upgrade project by the State of Nevada, the company said.
Included in the project are Aviat´s IRU 600 EHP radio, CTR microwave routers, AviatCloud automation platform and full portfolio of design, deployment and managed services.
The State selected Aviat based on an end-to-end offering/solution that significantly lowers the total cost of ownership (TCO). Aviat´s CTR 8500 microwave router converges the functions of a microwave indoor unit and an IP/MPLS router into a single device thereby reducing the number of boxes to buy, deploy and maintain thus lowering overall cost. In addition, the State will purchase IRU 600 EHP, which allows the State to use smaller antennas and avoid large sums in costly tower retrofits.
Aviat will deliver a network management system including IP/MPLS and other operational tools via its AviatCloud platform and will also provide a complete turnkey solution to the State that includes all services for planning, engineering, installation and support to design and build the network.
