SSP Group has announced it has secured a seven-year contract worth approximately GBP 40m to open a new international food hall at Australia´s Brisbane Airport, the company said.
Food Collective will be the first of its kind in an Australian airport, drawing inspiration from local outdoor hawker street dining and farmers markets. The concept will feature a large centralized seating area, creating a community feel. Additionally, technology is being used to enhance the customer experience with on-site self-order kiosks allowing passengers to order food across all five restaurants.
SSP Asia Pacific, said it is proud to be working in co-operation with Brisbane Airport to develop the Food Collective, which is a style of concept that has never been seen before in Australian travel retail.
Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC) said the upgraded Café Court in the Northern end of the terminal forms the centerpiece of Stage 2 of the Domestic Terminal redevelopment and SSP´s hawker-style dining options will bring a unique point of difference to Brisbane Airport´s Domestic Terminal.
