Splunk names new chief technology officer

Splunk Inc. (NASDAQ: SPLK) said that it has appointed Todd Papaioannou as chief technology officer.

Papaioannou will report directly to Splunk CEO Godfrey Sullivan to help define Splunk´s technology vision, strategy and roadmap. Splunk co-founder and former CTO Erik Swan will remain at Splunk as a senior advisor to the executive team.

Papaioannou holds a Ph.D. in artificial intelligence and distributed systems from Loughborough University in the U.K.
