Spirit Airlines chooses EVP, CFO

Miramar, Florida-based Spirit Airlines (NASDAQ:SAVE) has appointed Edward M. (Ted) Christie to the position of Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, effective immediately, the airline said.

In this expanded role, Christie will continue running the finance side of the company, but will now take on the added responsibility for the airline´s commercial functions. Christie joined Spirit in 2012 as its Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.

Prior to working at Spirit, Christie served as Vice President and CFO at Pinnacle Airlines and the same role for Frontier Airlines. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree in Finance from the University of Arizona.

Spirit Airlines provides low-fare airline services. As of December 31, 2015, the company operated approximately 385 daily flights to 56 destinations in the United States, the Caribbean, and Latin America, on a fleet of 79 Airbus single-aisle aircraft comprising 29 A319s, 42 A320s, and 8 A321s.
