Spirit AeroSystems installs autoclave for composite manufacturing

Spirit AeroSystems Inc. (NYSE: SPR) has installed a large autoclaves at its Wichita, Kan., facility to support increasing production levels in the company´s composite fuselage business and to grow overall composite production capability, the company said.

The autoclave addition is part of an expansion to Spirit´s composite fuselage facility, where the company makes the carbon-fiber nose section for Boeing´s 787 Dreamliner.

Spirit AeroSystems Inc. designs and builds aerostructures for both commercial and defense customers. The company has headquarters in Wichita, Kansas, and operates sites in the US, UK, France and Malaysia.
