Spirit AeroSystems contributes to flood relief in North Carolina

Spirit AeroSystems and its employees have contributed USD30,000 to the American Red Cross for flood relief efforts in North Carolina, the company said.

Almost 600 people work at Spirit´s facility in Kinston, NC, building fuselage sections and wing spar components for the Airbus A350 XWB.

Spirit´s employee-run Good Neighbor Fund (GNF) contributes to nonprofit organizations in US communities where the company operates and is funded entirely through employee contributions. Both the Kinston and Wichita Good Neighbor Funds contributed to the North Carolina flood relief effort, and Spirit matched the GNF gift dollar for dollar.

Spirit AeroSystems Inc. designs and builds aerostructures for commercial and defense customers. With headquarters in Wichita, Kansas, Spirit operates sites in the US, UK, France and Malaysia. The company´s core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components for aircraft.
