Spirit Aeronautics said it has developed a unique avionics upgrade program that modernizes military C-21A aircraft that will meet the demands of worldwide flight operations in both military and civil airspace.
“We have some smart people who have teamed up with some of the brightest avionics OEM engineers to come up with an innovative and cost-effective solution to modernize the C-21A aircraft,” said Tony Bailey, President & COO. “We are excited to present this unique solution to C-21A operators because it not only increases aircraft systems reliability, it meets all of the requirements of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) mandates.”
The C-21A aircraft is the military version of the LearJet 35A business jet that has been serving military operations around the world since 1984. The primary mission of the C-21A is to provide military personnel with high speed, low volume cargo and passenger airlift during normal operations and up to five ambulatory passengers during aeromedical evacuations. It is a multi-role aircraft with a 2,306 mile (3,689.6 kilometers) range and speeds up to 530 miles per hour (MPH).
