Southwest Airlines reports 7% increase in November 2016 RPMs

Southwest Airlines Co. (NYSE: LUV) has reported it flew 10.4 billion revenue passenger miles (RPMs) in November 2016, an increase of 7.2 percent from the 9.7 billion RPMs flown in November 2015, the company said.

The company reported available seat miles (ASMs) increased 4.9 percent to 12.3 billion in November 2016, compared with November 2015 ASMs of 11.7 billion. The November 2016 load factor was a record for the month of November at 85.1 percent, compared with 83.3 percent in November 2015.

Southwest Airlines Co. is a Dallas-based low-cost US airline wth more than 52,000 employees as of July 2016. The company operates more than 3,900 departures a day during peak travel season.
