Southwest Airlines reduces flights in and out of Midway

Southwest Airlines has announced the cancellation of a majority of flights in and out of Chicago´s Midway International Airport, the company said.

The action was taken after federal authorities closed the airport´s control tower after technicians tested positive for the coronavirus.

The airline said it not clear how long the airline will keep its reduced flight level in and out of Midway, and that decision is tied to how long the airspace restrictions continue.

Southwest´s move resulted in more than 173 canceled flights.
