SocialFlow names veteran digital ad innovator as chief marketing officer

Social media optimization company SocialFlow said it has appointed David U. Simon as chief marketing officer.

Simon will be responsible for leading all SocialFlow marketing efforts and will focus on refining the brand, expanding its publishers market presence as well as both defining and marketing the recently released data-driven advertising products.

Simon comes to SocialFlow from PointRoll, (now a division of Sizmek) where he was also CMO. Simon started his digital media career as SVP of Sales for Seth Godin´s Yoyodyne, later acquired by Yahoo!, where he ran Sales Programs then Promotions. He joined PointRoll as part of the acquisition of Boston-based Rovion, where he was President and CMO. Rovion, like PointRoll sold multi-screen, data-driven ad technology to major brands, their agencies and publishers.
