Small Planet Airlines picks UTC Aerospace Systems for LED cabin lighting

Small Planet Airlines has selected UTC Aerospace Systems, a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX), to retrofit existing fluorescent lighting systems on their Airbus A320 aircraft fleet with LED cabin wash lighting, the company said.

The LED wash lights have been installed as part of Small Planet Airlines´ cabin refreshment program. UTC Aerospace Systems´ LED wash lights provide a ´plug and play´ cabin lighting enhancement solution and can be retrofitted without impact to the existing cabin management system or aircraft wiring. The LED system offers increased reliability as well as power and weight reductions in comparison to the fluorescent light technology it replaces.

The UTC Aerospace Systems STC-certified LED lighting system installed on Small Planet Airlines´ A320s allows the airline to reinforce their branding by creating personalized cabin color lighting scenes. Small Planet Airlines chose a number of unique color schemes inspired by their logo and seat coverings.

Small Planet Airlines is a modern, forward thinking charter airline that focuses on delivering enhanced passenger service and flying experience. Incorporation of UTC Aerospace Systems´ full color LED mood lighting system reflects these core values by providing a modern, inviting cabin environment.
