The mobile app for Skyjet has won the “Best Mobile Travel User Experience” category at EyeforTravel´s 2016 Mobile Innovation in Travel Awards, the company said.
The Skyjet app, the first of its kind in the private jet charter industry to integrate with Apple Pay, allows travelers to book a private jet with the touch of a finger.
The Skyjet app leverages native iPhone features including Apple Pay, GPS and push notifications to produce a seamless booking experience. The app empowers clients to shop intelligently in what can be a complex market by providing comparative insights into the cost of chartering a private jet. Within seconds of entering their desired itinerary, the app provides users with instant price estimates based on current market pricing and what other clients recently paid for their trips.
The Mobile Innovation in Travel Awards, presented annually since 2012, were announced during EyeforTravel´s Mobile & Innovation in Travel conference in San Francisco on March 14. The “Best Mobile Travel User Experience” award was based on an evaluation of factors affecting the overall experience of mobile users such as usability, visual design, functionality, and interactivity. The panel of judges, including Tim Gunstone, managing director and founder of EyeforTravel, selected Skyjet from a distinguished field of finalists that included American Airlines, Alaska Airlines and global travel search-engine Dohop.
