Restored Huey returned to Veterans Park in Alabama

Commercial Jet has reported the return of the Bell UH-1H Iroquois “Huey” helicopter with Army serial number 65-9643 to its home on the static display at Veterans Park, Dothan, Alabama, the company said.

The paint restoration was performed in Commercial Jet´s aircraft paint hangar at its facility at the Dothan Regional Airport.

Designed and first manufactured by Bell Helicopter in the late 1950´s, this UH-1H was the fourth modification of the basic design UH-1A Iroquois series, from which Huey was derived. With more than 5,500 such units produced between 1967 and 1982, this helicopter was mostly used as a troop carrier and MedEvac, with some operated as gunships.

Commercial Jet is an FAA and EASA-approved repair station that specializes in maintenance, avionics upgrade programs and complete aircraft painting.
