RELM Wireless gets PO from US Bureau of Land Management

RELM Wireless Corporation (NYSE MKT: RWC) has received a blanket purchase agreement (BPA) from the US Bureau of Land Management (BLM), the company said.

The BPA encompasses the company´s entire line of radio products and accessories operating in all the primary frequency bands.

The BPA provides an 11-month base period (January 25, 2016 expiring on December 14, 2016) and four one-year option periods, and limits each individual order to a maximum of USD1,250,000. There is no minimum or maximum total procurement under the BPA, nor does the contract specify or guarantee purchase quantities or dates of equipment orders.

APCO Project 25 (P25), which requires interoperability among compliant equipment regardless of the manufacturer, was established by the Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials and is approved by the US Department of Homeland Security. The shift toward interoperability gained momentum as a result of significant communications failures in critical emergency situations. RELM was one of the first manufacturers to develop P25-compliant technology.

As an American Manufacturer for almost 70 years, RELM Wireless Corporation has produced high‑specification two‑way communications equipment for use by public safety professionals and government agencies, as well as radios for use in a wide range of commercial and industrial applications.
