UK-based Red Arrows of the Royal Air Force has announced it has begun a tour of North America to promote the United Kingdom, the company said.
Fighter jets from the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team took off from their base at RAF Scampton, Lincolnshire, UK to begin the 2,658-nautical mile journey across the North Atlantic.
The tour includes performances or flypasts at more than 20 locations across the United States and Canada.
Officially known as the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team, the Red Arrows showcase the excellence of the RAF and represent the United Kingdom both at home and overseas. The team consists of 11 pilots, nine of whom fly in the display, and more than 100 support personnel and technicians.
