Radisys, Pentair collaborate on open source rack-level hardware systems

Radisys Corporation (NASDAQ: RSYS) and Pentair plc (NYSE: PNR) have developed open source rack-level hardware systems specifically designed to meet the next-generation requirements of the telecom industry, the company said.

The resulting open source hardware design leverages Open Compute Project (OCP) principles, with optimizations for Telco Central Offices and service provider-oriented data centers. The joint design innovations are being contributed to OCP as the CG-OpenRack-19 specification.

Radisys helps communications and content providers, and their strategic partners, create new revenue streams and drive cost out of their services delivery infrastructure.

Pentair Technical Solutions supplies systems and solutions that safeguard industrial controls, electrical components, communications hardware, electronic devices, and electrical cooling systems.
