Quarantine restrictions prohibit Jet2 airline from flying to Bulgaria

Bulgarian National Radio has reported Jet2 airline has announced that, due to ongoing quarantine rules, the airline does not include flights to Bulgaria, Montenegro and Portugal on its list of holiday destinations it will fly to from July 15, the news source said.

Jet2 has been operating in Bulgaria since the summer of 2019. The English low-cost airline flies from 9 British airports to the coastal city of Burgas. Earlier, the number of British tourists visiting Bulgaria via Jet2 flights was expected to increase in the 2020 summer season.

Bulgaria is in the second peak of the first wave of Covid-19. The number of Bulgarians infected with coronavirus since the beginning of the pandemic is expected to reach 10,000 in the autumn of 2020.
