Qatar expands visa rules to increase visitors

Qatar Airways, Ministry of Interior and Qatar Tourism Authority have collaborated to expand free transit visa stays for passengers traveling through Doha, Qatar, to encourage an increase of visitors to the country, the companies said.

The visas expand from 48 hours to 96 hours allowing travelers to plan a Doha stopover.

The UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Secretary General said nearly 30 million passengers pass through Hamad International Airport every year, and the new visa rules can allow them to plan a Doha stopover.

Qatar Airways has a network of more than 150 destinations.
