Qatar Airways celebrates international journalism

Qatar Airways has sponsored the fourth annual Global Beat event at the United Nations Foundation Headquarters in Washington D.C., the company said.

The gathering honored Foreign Correspondents and served as a kickoff for the weekend of the White House Correspondents Dinner.

The Global Beat celebrates the bravery and commitment of foreign and international news correspondents, who continue to risk their lives in increasingly dangerous areas in service of the press. The event brings together influential Washington policymakers, prominent media personalities, accomplished journalists, rising stars, and celebrities known for their activism and involvement in international affairs.

Qatar Airways is proud to support US global travelers by offering 10 US cities access to over 150 destinations around the world. The reigning “Airline of the Year” recently commenced daily non-stop service from Los Angeles (LAX), Boston (BOS), and is launching service from Atlanta (ATL) on June 1st.

Qatar Airways is the national carrier of the state of Qatar. The Qatar Airways Cargo fleet now includes eight Airbus 330Fs, nine Boeing 777 freighters and one Boeing 747 freighter.
