Pratt & Whitney moves to IBM cloud to manage expected growth

Pratt & Whitney, has reported it plans to relocate its enterprise systems, including engineering and manufacturing, to a the IBM cloud infrastructure, the company said.

Due to the market success of its broad portfolio of commercial and military engines, Pratt & Whitney said it expects to more than double engine production by 2020 and its expanded facilities and enhanced supply chain will result in the need to store securely its increased data.

Pratt & Whitney, a division of United Technologies Corp (NYSE: UTX), designs, manufactures and services aircraft engines and auxiliary power units for the aerospace industry.
