Global communications software company PortaOne, Inc. has completed interoperability testing between its PortaBilling B/OSS (Business and Operation Support System) and the BFX Interface Gateway from BroadForward, a leader in interworking and routing solutions for mobile, Fixed/Wi-Fi and other communications networks, the company said.
Through its interoperability with BFX, PortaBilling can now serve as an Online Charging System (OCS) on mobile networks built on CDMA, the prevalent North American standard, including the Sprint network in the USA.
PortaOne´s PortaBilling B/OSS is used by telecom operators, mobile networks, and mobile service resellers in countries all over the world. The software combines service management and customer provisioning with a carrier-grade billing system that delivers online charging, rating, and invoicing. As an integrated solution, PortaBilling allows users to manage and bill for multiple services including those managed by third-party network elements, grouping charges for separate services on a single bill.
The interoperability of PortaBilling with BroadForward´s BFX Interface Gateway is a major operational advantage for mobile networks operating under the CDMA standard as well as for those operators connecting to CAMEL protocol-based intelligent networks.
Based in Canada, PortaOne is a leading global software developer for modern telecoms. The company´s billing (B/OSS & OCS) and switching (SBC & Class 4/5) products enable telecommunication service providers and carriers to run a broad line of retail, enterprise, SME, and wholesale services on a single integrated software platform.
BroadForward provides signaling interworking and routing for 2G/3G, 4G/LTE, IMS, Fixed, Wi-Fi, Number Portability and M2M networks.
