PacStar gets contract to provide tactical network baseband equipment

PacStar®, a developer and supplier of advanced communications solutions for commercial, industrial, defense and intelligence markets, has announced its selection to provide the tactical network baseband solution for the initial six US Army Security Forces Assistance Brigades (SFAB), the company said.

The estimated value of the contracts to PacStar will total in excess of USD 20 million.

The US Army SFABs are specialized tactical units with the core mission to conduct training, advising, assisting, enabling and accompanying operations with allied and partner nations. Under this contract, PacStar solutions will provide vital access for the deployed SFABs to the Army´s tactical communications network for mission command, fielding and training efforts over the next three years.

PacStar´s baseband system consists of its patented and field-proven PacStar 400-Series small form factor (SFF) tactical and deployable communications modules and includes a variety of networking, computing, storage and wireless solutions. The modules are designed, extensively tested and certified to meet numerous MIL-STD environmental specifications, so that warfighters can be assured of reliable mission critical communications.
