Optomec, a New Mexico-based supplier of additive manufacturing solutions, has announced it has acquired Huffman, a supplier of 3D metal printing systems to deepen production applications in aerospace and energy markets, the company said.
The acquisition combines Optomec´s horizontal market reach with Huffman´s penetration in the gas turbine market. The synergies extend to complementary product portfolios and technical expertise, which together sets the stage for accelerated growth in both businesses.
Optomec is a supplier of additive manufacturing systems. Optomec´s Aerosol Jet Systems for printed electronics and LENS 3D Printers for metal components reduce product cost and improve performance.
Huffman develops and produces systems for additive repair of gas turbine components qualified for the production and repair of components in industries including aerospace, power generation and medical device manufacturing.
