NuLink, a local broadband and television provider, has announced that it was unable to complete contract renewal negotiations with the Meredith Corporation, the owner of local CBS station WGCL and WPCH (Peachtree TV) due to pricing demands from Meredith, the company said.
The failed negotiations come as a result of requests by Meredith to increase fees paid by NuLink in exchange for the right to retransmit its programming signals to NuLink customers.
NuLink´s parent company was able to reach agreements with almost two dozen other broadcasters of all sizes.
As a consequence of this impasse, Meredith Corporation directed NuLink to discontinue carriage of Meredith´s CBS station and Peachtree TV effective at midnight on December 31st.
